My 1.8 ZS stepspeed has just gone up by a tenner to £340 and the 2.0 75 CDT auto tourer to £315. Only found out when my Vehicle Smart app updated and told me it included the new tax rates.

VED rates are based on CO2 emissions, https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-...r-1-march-2001

You can find out the VED rate for any car on Parkers https://www.parkers.co.uk/car-tax/

I don't know what the Co2 emissions are on the V8 but I'm surprised to hear they are in same band as a 1.8 k series nasp.Similarly with a diesel which I would expect to be far more polluting.

The V8 comes in as band K because bank K "Includes cars with a CO2 figure over 225g/km but were registered before 23 March 2006.".

I tax mine for the 12 months and when I swap over cars (to so work on one) and SORN it I get back the unused road tax for whole unexpired months which if I intend only to use it for 6 months is cheaper per month than the 6 months road tax
