What a miserable wet day it's been. Went to the recycling centre this morning with all those rotten decking boards & called in at ALDI for some essentials.


It's been a day for driving trains Even the weather in this Huddersfield to Leeds scenario driving a class 45 was bad


I made chicken breasts in a cream sauce with roasties & veggies for tea tonight.

I used to live close to a lanolin factory that was in a place called Laisterdyke in Bradford. The smell used to travel for miles and when travelling through there, the kids would take a deep breath and see if they could "last past the stink!"


I remember my granny had a friend that worked there and used to bring home jars of the stuff. If you got cracked fingers and hands in the winter, the lanolin (no longer too smelly after processing) would heal them very quickly. Any of the kids at school, with exzema, would have it slapped on quite thickly! It did the trick though. Nature's best at healing itself!
