To perform a strong structural weld, the arc needs to be fed into the weld puddle and not away from it, and the metal needs to be cut back sufficiently to reach sound steel, and not stuck on with chicken poop to rusty metal in the case of this "repair" I'll give it two years at most before it needs doing again properly, a shame because you are generally better to get it right first time without causing yourself a lot of extra work Brian |
