Believe it or not I have no blue tooth devices except my phone! Lap top hasn't got it and desk top is circa 1994......

Not a problem. You can get USB bluetooth devices for the PC as well.
Benefit is you can swap for different PC's.
And as for the printadapter you can buy just the inkjet-, B/W or colourlaserprinter, MFP or whatever, that you want, not worrying if it has networking.

HP C6180 is a 4 in 1 multifunction (print/scan/copy/fax) machine with built in wireless, curentlly retails at £249 or if you trade in any old printer or fax you get it for £149 at Staples

Thanks! I gave up and bought an epson multifunction for £66 with no wireless...I will just have to carry on trudging upstairs to print but then I have an additional £100 odd to treat the love of my life!
