Nice to see a few other local mg owners on here. Bought a ZT Cdti couple of weeks ago, you probably seen it on the usual car sites, the grey one for £1895. Its not that tidy and no service history at all but I got a decent deal on it and bought it lol. Done a service last week, cleaned the egr valve and put the inline Renault thermostat in the top pipe as the thermostat was stuck open.... Sub 30mpg, wasn't amused. Its sitting around 36mpg now, still not great but I do short drives everyday. Suspension is quite hard too, think it's just how they are, I had a bmw 530D sport and that wasn't even as hard on suspension.

Hi

perphaps I am mistaken !! but are you saying that by changing to a Renault thermostat your mpg increased by 6 to 36mpg

I am having low mpg (average 34) from my cdt and every little increase would be great.

Wouldn't it be great to get 40+ as seems to be the norm with most guys..

Renault thermo has indeed had a positive effect on most owners, and with the car at the right temps quicker is more efficient.

Hey, yea when I bought my car the thermostat was stuck open, needle stayed in the blue circle and the heaters never got very warm. The car was never getting up to running temp at all soit was always as if you just started the car. It's easier to put the Renault thermostat In than to replace the original, and it only cost £10 and half an hour. Temp now sits at normal and mpg is higher than it was by atleast 5 mpg. Heaters are warm now too
