absolute doddle, remove back bumper cover, 5 scrivets under boot seal, 2 underneath at centre, then one self tapper on bottom of bumper at the wheelarch end. Remove the crash bar and retain bolts, the towbar crossbar bolts onto the back of the car using the crash bar mounting holes and bolts, there is a plate that bolts onto the towing eye of the car, then there are bolts which go through the boot floor and chassis leg and the holes of the towing bracket. drill a hole in your spare wheel well to allow the wire to be passed through, replace bumper cover, fit towball, torque to specified settings, job done,. As for wiring, I just used snap connectors, but some prefer to use a relay. I have the wiring colours for the car, and the 2 lots of 7 core ,if you are fitting both towing sockets. If its the single 13 pin socket, can't help.

never heard that one before, there is a relay available, but I tow a caravan and the only relay I have for towing is the split charger type that keeps the caravan battery topped up. I have always used these connectors on each car I have had a towbar fitted to, which now totals 7 and never had any bother (touches head) knock knock

I've been quoted £450 to fit a bar to my car, by a local Rover specialist. Obviously this is nearly the price of the car, and I haven't got that amount of cash available.

Does anyone know if that's the going rate for fitting?

I had a brand new Towsure bar and 'simple' electrics (i.e. NOT the Rover specific ones) supplied, fitted and guaranteed for £225 - £450 is far too much to pay

I've been phoning around all afternoon, and cheapest quote has been £249.00. So, looks like the tow bar can go on my list of "wants but can't haves"
