Hi Andy the .Net Framework will not alter the Drivers etc of your Machine, I am sorry for not replying before been a bit tied up for last couple of days Im afraid.
Im glad you have now reformatted & all is reloaded & working.
The latest .NET FRamework is now up to version 3, but as long as you have version 1.1 most programs that use it will run.
