Default CDT the question

I have noticed when behinds some Rover 75 or MGZT CDT cars some knock out a load of smoke on pulling away and others zero smoke.

just had my Maff sensor change the other week, mine was not moving a to speed at it should, however it never smoked and now its got the sensor on it goes like a rocket, so i was wondering if my maff sensor did not make it smoke when it was a little old/clogged up why do they smoke so much on some but on theres nothing like mine ( no smoke) even with a gammy sensor, it must be servicing? surely?

the question
