T4 is a diagnostic tool for our cars. It tells you if you have anything wrong. And if there is, you can put it right.

Exactly my view.

So, what is a T4 fix?

Does the poster mean he had a problem with his car that was identified using the T4 and then fixed? If so, it must have ben some issue to have led to a 10MPG difference. Keen to understand what it was.

Or is this some sort of a drug taken by terminators?

Might be an X-Power upgrade "fix", I couldn't stand any longer plodding around with a 116PS ECM connected to my car on an extended soak test, so in the carpark of the factory I visited last evening I reprogrammed the damned thing.

My fuel consumption figures have recovered from 43 MPG back up to 48 MPG, and I don't have to use a calendar to plan road trips

Mmm, 131 PS is not 160 BHP, but it is certainly more palatable than 114 BHP

Possibly a defective injector, easily identified by an experienced eye using T4, or a sticking EGR valve, or perhaps a faulty MAF, or a goosed thermostat.

The thing is nobody but the poster, or the T4 operator can answer this question

[QUOTE=Mr bountyfull;2434760]Update - now with T4 fix. The car is now more swift where I want it 50-70mph but more importantly the car is now giving just shy of 60mpg (over 59mpg brim to brim measured)
I think those figures are misleading, some new members may think they're real.

What rubbish !!!, I've had to syphon off five gallons now as the fuel tank was refilling itself after my "T4 fix"

Brian

PS, no it's doing 48MPG which is about right

There are always one or two to spoil peoples' dreams by bringing up reality.

The 750 mile a week round trip is 66% motorway sitting at a indicated 70mph by speedo and 66mph by GPS.

Delighted with my visit to Phil-T4
Sounds like a major result.

Driven my car from 23k to nearly 202k.
Used to get close to 50mpg when miles were low, now get between 44-46.

As the actual combined is 48mpg, that sounds about right.

This is from mainly 60 miles round trip to work, average speed overall about 45mph

The fix is the "fixing of power" no other fix. They are the real mpg values by brim to brim. I recorded the mileage noted the fuel used brim to brim and that was the mpg. If no one trusts my records so be it, I will continue to enjoy the better than expected economy.
