The mpg is good on longer journeys, mine would do 42 or there abouts but dropped to half that around town.

Looking at the mileage, has yours had the cam-belt done? If not it will need it shortly (105K). Mine was auto and so smooth that gear changes were never felt. I was told the manual can be a bit clunky but have never actually driven one. Find yourself a good independant to do your servicing work etc as Jaguar prices can be eye watering.

Best of luck and enjoy!
I don't yet have the car but it has FSH so I will have a look. Give its at 103k I doubt the belts have been done then. As soon as I buy a car the first stop in my very local and very resonable local garage. They may not be a Jag Indy but they service all - modern, classic and some high end if old cars. They have been servicing my S/C 260 to Kennel Bell & Dreadnought guides.

The gear change was very smooth, both when the garage owner and myself were at the helm.

Thanks for the tip.

They are really nice cars to drive, had one for about three years and absolutely loved the car, but I wanted the next model up, and traded mine in at a jag dealership for an XF, and still miss driving the S Type which was quite reasonable for servicing

This is the S Type I had, it was an S Type XS with the full Jaguar Body kit and 18" Alloys and was around 204 bhp, which was great

Well I have now had the Jag for 5 days and covered about 300 miles, half motorway half back roads. Thoughts so far, its more of a barge than a 75 but handles well and is very quiet. The economy figure as displayed not brim to brim yet are reassuring, 47 mpg and climbing at a stable 70 mph when on the motorway and hovering around 40 mpg on my back roads run to and from work. I have to say I have not got the same happiness level I found when driving my many varied 75/ZT models but early days still. The most important drive is coming this Friday, the grind of Newbury to Shap where I hope to find the happiness I am looking for. I will post next week after the North and South runs.

Ahh John?

The 2.7 Diesel engine is a very good unit, can see 300bhp with decats, exhaust and the usual stuff..
Which is insane power, the torque figure is mental!

Nice cars, inside are very nice for the age... but im not a huge fan on the outer looks.

This was one of the dealers images, I agree the car can look awkward and handsome dependant on where you look from. This one I like.

That is the most Jaguar shaped Audi I have even seen.
