with Google and the maps it accesses there is no need to move from your living room.
my daughter and her husband have just gone after a place and rang my wife to talk about it.
While on the phone my wife discovers a new housing estate, business and some shops are being developed, how many houses are going up and the time span to build them.
Also looked at possible traffic flow to the new development from surrounding towns.

All this done during a phone call.

locations of schools is just as easy to find as are the super markets and crime stats.

goodness you can probably find out all you need except the feel of the place from the comfort of your own home.

Flying would be quite difficult if I did not have a aeroplane.
