what is it called?
What is the fixing called where you drill a hole into masonry and then hammer of a "screw" that is inside a "rawplug" then tighten the screw?
For the life of me I cannot remember. This is the thing I mean but I'm sure they have another name https://www.buymystuff.co.uk/10-x-m8...-with-washers/ thank you macafee2 |

If you drill the masonry only I guess they're Rawlplugs, if you drill through wood and go through into the masonry, then I believe they're called frame fixings (hammer into the hole and screw in)

Agree with the above and if they are for plasterboard then "toggle bolts" IIRC

I've never used them but, I thought if you inserted them into a pre-drilled (of the right size) hole then hammering the head would automatically produce a turning or screwing effect while ensuring full penetration. Of course, a hexagon head would need a spanner.
