Default MOT 2nd May

Mot booked for 08:00. I'll be up early tomorrow to give the 75 a good blast up the dual carriageway before it's test.

Over the last month and a bit I've replaced the following:
- crankshaft damper pulley
- both front springs
- both front arb droplinks
- both track rod ends
- oil and filter change
- air and pcv filter
- Renault 5 in-line stat fitted and coolant changed

Hope it doesn't have to go off the road, I've just stumped up my £300 for road tax today
Hopefully be ok, but time will tell..

My diesel passed yesterday, guy who presents it fitted 2 lower wishbone bushes (DMGRS) prior to test. Advisory on brake pipes. So, check, test and labour £117.50. I like to source the parts myself and he's fine with that.

Well done that car. I really don't like MOT's, it's about how much the day costs more than anything. I always have a 'real' test, owning the 75 is more about cheap motoring for me rather than how much polish is on it.

I did the three Swiss passes in one day once - Phew! An MOT pass is just as hard these days! Well done.

Was a bit touch and go this morning as the airbag light was on again this week.
I was out early disconnecting and reconnecting the airbag sensor plugs under the seat, cleaned it all with contact cleaner spray but the light wouldn't go out Despite repeated attempts no luck

Decided to take it in regardless, and went for a run to warm up, and the airbag light stayed on. I parked at MOT garage with light on and fearing the worse switched engine off.

I then decided to restart the car and move it further into garage and miraculously the airbag light stayed off this time!!!

Not wanting to temp fate I just left it running and let the tester get on with it.

Did a few trips after the MOT an it seems to be staying off, for the time being anyway....

Mine passed a few minutes ago, no advisories, 0.03 opacity - slightly up, I think it showed 0.02 last year. I have done nothing to it MOT related now for several years, not even a new bulb. In fact I have never needed to change a lamp bulb on it, ever.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
