Saw him at a concert in Irvine a number of years back, he stepped right off the edge of the stage falling onto the floor below, all part of the act ( I think)

RIP Freddie you were a “Star”

Funny, unpredictable and a true professional. He was there at the start of the TV pros. Before him, music hall acts had to make the transition from theatres to television but Freddie hit TV in his own anarchic way. Pity I never got to see him live on stage.

If my wife is watching some NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- programme on the telly I tune into YouTube and watch some of his hilarious celebrity shows absolutely priceless, because I have the headphones on and can’t help laughing out aloud and she then looks at me as if I am mad.
RIP Freddie you were in a class of your own so versatile a class act.

He didn't have to say anything, just his facial expression made me laugh!

I remember seeing the Mick Jagger impression on the telly, my Dad laughed so much.
Sadly, both no longer with us.

RIP Freddie.

Sadly, in the news today, his remains lie in the mortuary. Unclaimed by any family member or benefactor, a repatriation cannot be made if no claim is made. Apparently the authorities are not prepared to bear the costs. If nothing changes, what is known as a pauper's funeral takes place without a public resting place. Would have thought his show biz friends might have stepped in.

Mr Fogg the undertaker in Sheffield has now said he will repatriate Freddie back to the UK and also pay for the costs of his care
Copied from the mail.

He was good at his trade, as a person I couldn't stand the bloke, a good few others felt the same too. Don't think he was too popular with his own family either. Won't miss him one bit.

I know this is a very old thread, but did you know that Freddie owned a ZT?

He did, 52 plate 190 non plus is a non metallic dark blue colour

I worked for the Rover Dealer in Burton 2001-2005 and he lived then about 3 miles away, and he would pop in for a bit of banter with the boys.

A real lovely guy and always willing to have a laugh...and just like that be bought a pre reg ZT from my colleague.

I remember it well, badged as a 190 but had no rear spoiler, manual aircon, And was in the non metallic dark blue colour of a 75. It was a rover car with delivery miles on from memory!

Don’t think he kept it long.

We saw him live in Great Yarmouth in the early 80s, my parents were a little shocked as he was rather more “blue“ in concert, I was only about 9 lol!

Made worse by my dad locking the keys of the MK2 Cavalier hire car (our sierras back axle was being replaced under warranty) we had in it! A nice man from the AA rescued is with a wire coat hanger....those were the days!
