Default Does my '53 conn se have curtain airbags

I would like to know if it has them. In the handbook they're listed as an option. I just need to know if I'm going to mess my hair up in a major side on death inducing accident.
Is there a way of telling without ripping my car apart or driving across red lights with my eyes closed?

Mine has the word 'airbag' on the door pillars fore and aft of the front seats...

As I understand it, they would have increased the crash test score the 75 achieved to the highest...except they were not fitted until after the test - it was one of the recommendations....

Maybe not then. I didn't notice any wording on it anywhere. Then again possibly cars are too safe these days. How many accidents would there be if all cars were built with a large spike coming out of the steering wheel instead of an airbag?

Errr...is that a trick question? I reckon there would be plenty just getting in and out of the car!

Possibly. But wouldn't it be the perfect place to hang a trilby? It could then, in an emergency, be put on very quickly to doff to some pretty young filly who passes by.

In an ideal world, the pretty young filly would be sitting in the passenger seat, so you wouldn't need a trilby, or a spike to hang it on.

I was implying that you need to be of a certain age to know about such things as trilbies!
