Plenty of limited edition 50p pieces get minted for all sorts of events and commemorations. Why is this particular one is deserving of particular mention
Rhetorical question. We all know the answer

You moan about this particular issue - but presumably you had no problems with five new issues of 66million new 50p coins in 2017?

Four of the new issues celebrated the Beatrice Potter books with coins designating Benjamin Bunny, Peter Rabbit, Tom Kitten and Jeremy Fisher.

The fifth one in 2017 was to celebrate Isaac Newton.

So far in 2018 two special 50p coins were minted to mark the 60th anniversary of Michael Bonds first Paddington Bear novel.

So forgive me my cynicism at all the righteous indignation on display by those determined to be offended at ANYTHING to do with Brexit - but seriously guys - you need to get real if 50p coins for Peter Rabbit and Paddington Bear are “ok yar” - but one to mark the U.K. leaving the E.U. is somehow wrong?

Some should really look at getting a life.....

As it goes I think it's better than some of the other designs, certainly Friendship with all nations is something ALL of us should be able to agree on.

The solution has to be a ‘people’s vote’ to decide whether to mint it or not!

Yes, that controversy rumbled on for some time, however, a trick was missed when the Rover 75 updated model (MK 2) was released in 2004.
Should have had a special 50p minted to commemorate that!

Well a Beatrice Von Storch is the deputy leader of Germany’s AfD - (Alternative for Germany party) and not only is this party pro Brexit - this Beatrice has told the E.U. that Brexit proves to all Europeans that “there is another way”.

Given the election results in Germany over the last two weeks this message has a resonance with the voters.

This thread was starting to get lighthearted, but someone always try’s to bring it back to Brexit.
I think they are trying to get it shut down.
Just saying.
