Front Door Glass.
Couldn't find a definitive how to for replacing the door glass but found it was relatively easy. Hard part now is finding an O/S/F glass in good condition. Does anyone have one please?
Cheers Heddy. |

I had to buy one from Rimmers. I have never seen a scratch free second hand one.

I'd better buy a lottery ticket, found one. A scrappy had a near perfect one on an x reg of all things. £20 but if I removed it myself, £15. Well, it was partly wound down so I tugged it, clamps were loose so out it came.

a note to all, clean the inner edge of the outer rubber that rubs against the glass.
I did mine a couple of days ago, the amount of dirt was staggering. macafee2 |

The window seals are a lousy design that traps the dirt in the seal.
Fitted two new front glasses to a customers car, spent over an hour cleaning out the seals so there wasn't a trace of grit, a few months later they'd started to scratch again. If you go to an independent automotive glass supplier they were about £48 each for Saint Gobain Splintex replacements Russ

We vape so the windows usually only go down about 25mm. Will clean 'em out for the summer

Keep the rubbers as clean as possible, the new glass is very soft compared to the originals.
