Default Roewe Headlights

These headlight units on the Roewe -

are different to the MGR ones. Anyone know anything about them?

Thanks

Andrew

Wouldnt they be left hand drives ones? Not sure if you could adjust them or what sort of loom is needed but look superb!

Yes I believe they are different (in more ways than appearance) from 75/ZT lamps. I've never held an a actual Roewe headlamp, but I did have a 'Roewe' bumper that I was intending to fit to my 75. Like several others who'd already done this, I found the headlamp holes in the bumper to be some 5-10mm wider/deeper when fitted around standard lamps. In fact this was recognised as a factor in 'Roewe conversions' and a rubber filler (actually self-adhesive draft excluder) was offered to fill the gaps. Like you, I was also considering replacing the 75 lamps with Roewe lamps, which were/are available from Alibaba , etc. However, the whole thing got a bit daft on cost and I was never actually convinced that any of this stuff is Genuine Roewe. The bumpers are just too flimsy to be convincing. The same goes for the MG7 stuff, particularly the indicator/fog lamps that came with the deals. They'd not last long in UK conditions. All this is just my opinion of course.

But get opinions from those members who've done a Roewe conversion. I maybe incorrect in my views.

You are 100% correct about the bumpers, inferior plastic and moulded poorly make for a substandard item.

I don't think the bumpers are copies. Just chineese cac.
If you look at the bottom riight hand air vent, between the grill and the indicator, you will see a scabby unfinished moulding line.
My "premium" bumper is exactely the same.

Quality aside, I like that look.
Modern and fresh.

If any fellow member already has them on their car, they are great looking.

Alternatively, if no one has, they really are pukey when assessed with reference to my own taste and liking, for what it is worth as it is purely personal.
