Default Diesel crankcase filter

My 75 CDTi is running fine at 94048 but having seen a couple of threads on this I decided to check the crankcase "filter". Looks like despite a Rover service history to 80000 this has never been replaced - the one taken out today is the original thick type and absolutely solid. I replaced with the venturi type. An easy enough job, but worth investing in the correct socket for those those tiny torx head bolts on the wiring bracket. Also did the spyhole thing on both cars - so easy - and a suitable flexible drain rod was purchased from Poundland (I will leave you to guess the price).

Well done, for me these jobs are a must. I do change the oil & filter twice a year but other than that I just turn the key and go. I go to London and Birmingham quite often and don't even lift the bonnet. I didn't buy the car to lie underneath it.

I agree, nothing changes anyway lol

Apart from I need to order some bonnet stays as the originals have decided they don't want to hold the bonnet up every time lol
