Default Spring/tyre protectors....

Hi, i bought spring/tyre protectors to fit to struts, which I have replaced the struts 2 years ago with monroe reflex, the protectors I bought were in a genuine mg/rover bag but they are VERY thinly painted and will not fit flush and fit very poorly. The only way I can see or get them to fit is by grinding 2mm off strut circumference or cut and weld protectors, the holes are poor on struts aswell but will fit bolts anyway. Has anyone has similar problems? Many thanks for any replys....

I just bought a new pair from Rimmers and they have surface rust !! When fitting they seem like they dont fit properly, but the bolts pulled them snug.

I have fitted a few sets and they fit perfect, maybe it could the fact you have different struts fitted to your car?
