Post Audio Issue - 75 CDTI Contemporary SE

I have recently purchase a very nice CDTI Contemporary SE (05 Plate diesel auton with only 1 owner from new).

Is has the Harmon Kardon audio system upgrate and the radio CD unit currenty installed is CD 5404 MP3 X.

Is this likely to be the original radio CD unit installed from new?

The boot mounted CD autochanger is missing but I have just purchased a Kenwood KDC -C469 (on eBay) - will this work with the CD 5404 MP3 X Unit?

Any assistance here would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

From what I have read on previous threads, no, I think it has to be a genuine MGR original equipment part that works with the head unit. I have the symphony head unit, which is coup,ed to the Alpine cd changer, this is original MGR standard equipment . I could be wrong about yours mind you. The forum I C E experts are Coolcat, Duotone,Raykay, to name but a few. Try a PM to one of them,Duotone/Coolcat possibly best, as they know the MGR audio systems inside out. You could check for what was standard equipment here http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=79121

After checking the link in Reebs' signature, your car had the Ivovox m3-100 as standard and the H K system. The head unit you have is standard equipment, but I think an optional extra,it is a Siemens unit, so if your cd changer is kenwood , you MAY need to change the head unit to the same, but one of the experts will be able to advise better than me.

The VDO 5404MP3X was the top of the range head unit fitted to the late Rover

75 and MG ZT.

To replace your missing multi changer you will need a VDO changer.

The Alpine auto changers are not compatible with your present head unit.

It's a Kenwood changer he's bought Dave. I'm guessing that is not compatible either?

Smile Audio Issue - 75 CDTI Contemporary SE

Thank you Richard & Duotone for your very prompt advice and assistance.

I have now purchased the VDO unit on eBay and will keep my fingers crossed that it will be OK.

Not sure how the formal 'thank you' system works on the forum yet.

I have now purchased (on eBay) and mechanically installed the recommended Siemens VDO CD autochanger in the boot.

However the vehicle wiring loom (Harmon Kardon) has a male 13 pin DIN plug and the CD autochanger also has a male 13 pin DIN plug.

Have tried to find a female to female 13 pin DIN adaptor but have to date have had no success (just found some photos of the item so I know they existed!!)..

I have found a couple of female 13 pin DIN sockets and some 15 way screened cable but feel the soldering required could be a challenge.

Does anyone have any ideas where I could source a female to female 13 pin DIN adaptor?
