Wedgewood Blue colours
I suspect the answer to this is well known by those "in the know", but I have just come across this myself.
I need to get some touch-up paint to sort out a couple of bad stone chips on the front bumper of my Wedgewood Blue Mk 1 saloon, built May 2002, and so I looked up the paint code on the door pillar and it says JBH, which I think is right for "Longbridge built" cars. When I bought the car I looked up the build data on mg-rover.info, and on checking again just now, I see that the paint code listed there is JEL, which as we know is supposedly the correct code for "Cowley built" cars. But why would the build data and the code stamped on the door pillar label be different? And am I right (for the purpose of ordering the paint) that it is JBH as on the door pillar? I know photos can be deceptive in terms of colour rendition, and indeed various photos I have of my car render the colour different, but here are a couple. Or if you have a copy of this year's club calendar, have a look at August. |

Mine's JBH but is also listed on mg-rover.info as JEL. It's a useful site with lots of information, but not all of it is 100% accurate - the Wedgewood colour issue being just one example.

Thank you. Glad to know that it’s a known problem and not just me.
