Default Radio every so often resets??

Hi everyone strange thing keeps happening my radio in my contemporary se every so often resets itself and asks for the code to be inputted I do that then I'll get a few days then it'll do again when I come to get in the car and use it! It never happens while in use always when the cars switched off and it left until used again 🤔 any theories guys? It's the single mp3 I think m3100 or something. It has the Harmon kardon system in if that makes any difference lol
Thanks in advance.

The Ivox M300 and other Ivox radio's fitted to the rover 75 are well known

for this fault.

The cause of this problem is the internal battery in the radio, this results

in the memory function [ remembering the radio stations overnight ] failing.

The problem became so bad that MG Rover replaced the Ivox radio's with

VDO units.

It may not be worth repairing the Ivox unit and a replacement is the best

answer.

These are the VDO units.

You may be lucky if you put an add in the wanted section.

The other option is to fit a Double din head unit. Plenty of info on here as to

which model to buy.

The Harmon Kardon system will be compatible with both makes of unit.

The CD changer is another matter.

The mini ISO plug connection is the same but I am afraid I am unsure if it will

work as Ivox and VDO use different changers.
