Default Yet another Airbag Warning Light topic...

Sorry...but I have been searching and can't find an answer to my question. In fact, after searching I knew several other things to check, which caused me to still ask this question lol.

I have the mandatory airbag warning light, but I have decided I prefer less red lights in my IPK. So I want to correct the fault.

Already checked/replaced:
  • Side impact airbag sensor left
  • Side impact airbag sensor right
  • Plug under the left front seat
  • Plug under the right front seat
  • All fuses in the engine bay
  • All fuses in the dashboard
  • Airbag plug in the steering wheel
  • Airbag plugs for the rear seat belts
  • Rechecking the fuses in the dashboard (as this is something I did first a few months ago, might as well check again)
  • Battery reset (disconnect for 30 minutes, reconnect and test)

Result: nothing. I still get a very persistent red warning light on my IPK.

Anybody any tips what to check next? I thought about the front impact sensor? I expected it to be close to the front bumper, but I can't find it.

I don't have T4 available close to me. In fact, I have no clue who (in Holland) even has a T4 at all. I also did all check visually because I don't know how to set up my multi-meter for this.

Really? A car meet in Boxtel in a few weeks? That is great. I'm sure to go there, I assume Dutchies are welcome as well .

However, I am keen to keep on trying to solve it myself. Would be good way to learn how this entire system works. Any clue on things I can try in the meantime?

Remember to check the under seat connectors/wiring for the seat belt pre-tensioners as well. A problem with them will also bring the light up.

True, I didn't mention the pre-tensioner plugs. But I did check them and replaced the connectors in some new ones that I had more trust in. After I replaced the connectors, I didn't have any problem. The warning light came on a few years later. Weirdly I didn't do anything at that time. So no clue what triggered the fault.

T4 will take the guesswork of of the equation Vinnie, and as Andy has mentioned, there will be one at the Boxtel meet

I know that, and as I said I'd like to attend the meeting. But in the meantime I might as well give it another shot. Why give up if I might solve the puzzle before the meeting?
Would be a bit of a challenge, but I don't mind challenges. Just need a few pointers to get me going again.

DIY method can get very frustrating. I thought I'd solved an airbag light more than once only for it to return. A trip to Brian identified a defective seat belt pre-tensioner rather than anything to do with wiring etc.

Another day, another chance of fixing something . I gave it another go to check several stuff. Mostly visually, and checking if connectors where correctly fitted. Especially the Aribag ECU underneath the armrest was of importance, because I never looked at it.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything. And wobbling the connectors a little bit didn't solve anything. So far, no luck.
But wouldn't it be kinda cool if I managed to fix it before the Boxtel meet?
