Morning all - it would seem we've missed the worst of the storm here.
Although we had wind during the night, it was neither particularly strong, nor persistent. Now, it's quite bright, with bits of sunshine peeping through and just a gentle breeze. The missus has got her 'bed linen washing face' on this morning so I'm keeping out of the way, although I may offer to switch the washer on for her

A day of sunshine and showers today. Census notification though the letterbox this morning accompanied by the council tax bill, so retired to the kitchen for some therapeutic cooking, I prepared a lamb curry for dinner this evening while Mrs G made apple and sultana and date and walnut loaf cakes..

Evening all, Quite sunny this afternoon but had the strong winds all day too, it's started raining again just now.
Still no joy getting the pigeon out of the chimney

I've given up after six attempts at trying to get it out today, every time you get your hand near it it climbs up out of reach, Just hoovered the bedroom & had a bath as I was covered in soot It can wait another day.

Chicken Kiev mashed spuds, carrots/swede mash, cauliflower & broccoli for tea.

Maybe entice it with food and water to get it into where you want it. Also instead of using your hands to try to grab it try throwing a bit of an old sheet or towel over it, if successful it will also be much easier to carry it and safer for it too. What about a fish net on a pole?

You need to get a chimney cowl fitted to your chimney pot to prevent this happening again.

Some grain and water. Excellent idea. By now it must be on its last gasp and the sight of water glinting in a dish might do the trick.

I breed ring neck Doves as in the pics below.

I also breed these feathered friends too. They are free to fly away if they want but where else would they find such a good restaurant and three square meals a day ???

Trying to keep them out of the pool is very difficult. They have their own paddling pool but as you can see it's very messy even after only a few days.---

The one in the middle is mum, the others are two of her boys. She's now eight years old. ( Apparently they live to about the same age as dogs. )

One neighbour's fence has bought it but it looks like we're all OK.

Still haven't washed the Conny as I didn't fancy wearing most of the water from the pressure washer and shampoo bucket . Yes Rich, I know, soft southern wimp .

Maybe today

Take care.
