There were two built, one three litre & the 3.5. The three litre got broken as it was apparently beyond repair though when l saw them together at Brooklands during an OC national rally some few years ago, it didn't look too bad.
They were both built for the same original owner.

I wasn’t that keen on it, would of been better as a standard P5

I was aware of them. Seen loads of pictures & read a bit about them.
I'll be honest & say I wasn't a fan at all. I think I'll keep my P5B Coupe just as it is |

On the whole l would rather have a classic van conversion but there are plenty of P5's in standard form so l don't begrudge either conversion & AFAIK, they were both converted from new cars when they were ten a......well, £20,000 in the 'B's case.

Slightly off the wall,
Anyone know who the garage was where the Stag was being worked on in the body shop during the P5B clip?. I have to make some decisions, to sell (now a barn find, been in store since the nineties) as I've had an offer, as is, from the storage owner or bite the bullet to get it restored. Off course easiest would be to sell and put the money towards a decent runner, but were would be the fun in that? Cheers |

I watched that on bangers and cash last night, and thought it was a waste of a good car. Watched it going up a drive and it looked like a ship in a storm......rolling all over the place. I suppose it was an engineering experiment back in the day.Obvious not a great success.

I remember one of these for sale in Chesterfield in 1983. Still have an ad that mentions it as we bought an Austin 1300 from the guy that was selling it.
Wonder if it was one of these two? Don't remember the reg but it looked like a professional conversion. |
