The idea is that they protect the front of the car from flying stones and bugs. Very popular in the States as James said.

personally I think the damage done by chafing, trapped moisture and grit out weighs any advantage.

Oh, and they look totally cr8p

In fairness, most of the ones I've seen in the US do cover the bumper. That just makes the 75 /ZT item even more pointless

I've only seen one in the uk on a lexus, first saw them on mass in Las Vegas, the mind boggles that anyone would buy one and at £70! They are probably a tenner tops to make.

It's a bit like buying a sofa and leaving the plastic on so you don't get it dirty.... but it doesn't get enjoyed.

In Jakarta most things in a car and in the house are covered in plastic because there's so much dirt in the air - but no car-bra's!

As said there are a lot in the States I see,
but in fairness although they look NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-, they do stop a lot of the NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- from hitting front of car on dirt track roads etc.
Virtually all the lower front is covered over there though.
