Default Tesla Truck

Teslamotors have released a short clip on instagram ahead of Tesla's new truck debut tonight at 8pm PST.

This is supposed to be an accurate CGI of the truck.

It's very sleek but confusing! Where is the gap between trailer & cab? how is it meant to turn? I noticed that the trailer swings around at the end of this short clip, Is it rear wheel steer only?

Well Elon Musk did tweet a few days ago that this thing is going to blow your mind clean out of your skull.

I love the 'camera' mirrors though, very cool

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bbhvtwvl...by=teslamotors just click on the truck to start the clip.

Nice one Dave. I've not been on Tesla's site yet to take a look at last nights reveal.

Edit: It's nearly as quick from 0-60mph as my Rover....fully loaded 36 tonne. https://www.tesla.com/semi/

And I wonder how they'd go about charging fleets of those? Oh yes coal, gas and nuclear power stations.

Just looks like a slippery body over the top of a normal chassis made to look mean and moody. Is the trailer the actual battery?

Could you imaging that thing accelerating at the claims stated? How unsafe would that be, I hope it can stop as fast?

Note that in Musks sales pitch states that it is 20% more efficient running costs than equivalent ICE version. Hardly worth it is it given the initial purchase cost. Not so much a leap as a fairy step I would suggest.

Still at least if you buy one of these at least you can look down on the evil ICE users and feel good about driving it up and down town and country blissfully ignoring that fact that all you have done is push the pollution to the third world, and help modern slavery.

That thing is slippery too! It says it's got an energy consumption of 2kwh/mile, Someone driving a Nissan leaf in ECO mode with a light foot is more than double that.

30 minutes to charge that battery pack on Tesla's 'Megachargers' for 400 miles in 30 minutes is astonishing. that's the time it takes for a cuppa & take a leak.

Looks like it's a bit spendy to purchase according to some figures Bloomberg did for the USA market.

Won't see many up here then. Amount of sun we get would take about a fortnight to charge it.
