Default Slim chance- but does anyone have an MG ZS 180 Mk2 and have there SA and GM coding

Hi All

I wonder if anyone can help!!. I know this is for ZT’s but on the slim chance does anyone On here have a MK2 MG ZS 180 and also have there SA Coding and GM coding production data codes ( not VIN number coding) from the factory.

After 6 years I finally went to get a second key fob coded Today at a big Rover specialist in Birmingham and found out it was built as an MG Rover factory car and apparently it was very common on works cars not have there SA Or GM production data programmed into them. As a result the T4 test system cannot connect to my car to re program anything like, keys, ecu’s etc, it only recognises the vin number as an MG ZS 180 car built.

It’s great that I have something quirky, but it does have its down falls.

If anyone does have there production SA and GM coding ( please to confirm NOT your VIN number coding, this is different and of no threat to your car being cloned) for a MK2 ZS 180 is there any chance they could message it me at all, so I can create a generic production data file for my car an thus enable my car to talk to the T4 testbook in the future, if I should have a break down and need to change any electronics based parts.

I would be really, really grateful and thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Regards

Matt

First I've heard of this one... I can tell you however, DST0006V won't talk correctly to V6 HHR models

Phil-T4 engineered a patch for this and released a revised version of the diagnostic disc.

Apart from that, if the ZCS coding is corrupt, or the T4 is being operated by someone who doesn't understand where the information if being read from in the first place, and why they are getting spurious errors, or why T4 is asking to have the ZCS coding inputted manually, then it's time to find someone different to do the job.

All of the cars that came out of the factory coded with their respective ZCS, right up to the bitter end.

So if you only want an additional plip coded to the SCU, then I would suggest contacting Paul Brown (Technozen Electronics) rather than have someone succeed in locking it out, while they stumble blindly around attempting to do the job for you

Marinabrian and Lovel

Thanks for the reply. I’ll try and get hold of Phil T4 and see if he still has the patch.

The gentleman I went too (Ron at The Best of Rover Spares) was definitely an expert and was talking about locking out and losing the programming if not saved first. He had referred to similar problems with Zt’s in the past with the same issues and had managed to find a fix for them but that would not work with my ZS.

I was there with him and the T4 would recognise the vehicle as An kv6 ZS 180 but would not connect due to the lack of the SA and GM coding.

He believed that 1 Control unit had the coding in it and tried to access them one at a time but to no avail.

Thanks guys

Matt

Hi both

Do you know how to contact Phil-T4, he must have been inundated with private messages before and doesn’t accept them anymore.?

Thanks for this info Brian.
Certainly something to bear in mind, I ought to check what discs I have, then I may need to try and contract Phil and see if he is willing to help with this.

No need to contact me, ask Brian or Gary for a copy of my DST0006W disc.

I didn’t want to just give out your hard work, but now we have your blessing

Brian you are usually quicker of the mark than me. Have you already dealt with this?
