Ditto for me 50 miles South of you Rich. There are a few minor roads closed due to localised flooding, a light covering of the white stuff and we've got a leaden sky as well.

Morning all,

It's a nice morning here, the sun is out - well, sometimes .

The local river level had fallen a metre or so but, like several others have already said, it was horrific last night with the wind and rain so I'm expecting it to be even higher than it was very soon.

Fortunately, we haven't had the localised flooding that others have seen.

Take care.

It still blowing a hoolie here,if I had a wig on it would be blown off

Feel sorry for all those people affected by the flooding elsewhere in the UK

Afternoon all, Strong winds & heavy showers are the order of the day here , I'm not going to bother mopping the water up out of the garage yet until storm Christoph beggers off

So much for the guy in the end house isolating after testing C-19 positive, He went out in the car first thing this morning no mask on & has just got back, He's now stood right next to another neighbour talking with him I've had to cancel that electricity supply upgrade because of him testing positive and it looks like he doesn't give a stuff who he passes it on to.

Sad old g-t that I am - I often spend a few minutes scanning news websites, looking for strange stories, unintentional use of words and sentences which can be translated into rather more risqué reports.

From the BBC website today:-

Another 'fallow year' as Glastonbury is cancelled
Worthy Farm will have to wait another year to see the crowds return as the pandemic puts paid to the 2021 Glastonbury Festival. Organisers Michael and Emily Eavis had hoped to reopen the festival in June after cancelling last year, but said they were not able to make it happen "in spite of our efforts to move heaven and earth". Ticket holders from the October 2019 sale will be able to roll over their deposit to guarantee the chance to buy a ticket in 2022. A lesser known festival - the Dorset Knob Throwing and Frome Valley Food Festival - also announced it was cancelled. Celebrating traditional savoury biscuits known as knobs, events such as knob-and-spoon racing, splat the knob, knob darts, and pin the knob on the Cerne Abbas giant will have to wait until May 2022.

Not sure I like the sound of splat the knob and knob darts - it all sounds a touch dangerous to me

I do like a Dorset knob, and before you ask it is a savoury biscuit. Used buy a bag whenever I attended the MG meet at Athelhampton House.
