I'm off to give our local Eastern European car washers a chance to make my car look half decent this morning - for £15, I get a wash and wax, interior hoover out and inside of windows cleaned too. Better than me freezing my bits off doing it myself.
Your sister will be watching over you just to make sure you are ok. No one will think any different of you if a memory or two roll down your cheeks.

Hope it goes as well as it can Rod. A few years ago I reached the point where I was all funeraled out! Lost my parents then several aunts and uncles within months. The last was my Uncle Gerald . . . . I simply couldn't go, couldn't face another one.

Severe frost today, about -7; I say about because my thermometer is not working properly. I looked out this morning just before 8; and it said -2; but it was much lower than that. The car temperature sensor was saying -4; and that was sheltered,as it was parked up against the front of the van, so out in the open it would be -6/7. Still -2 on the lawn atm,all the pipes in the van are frozen solid,so will have to put the fan heater on before it gets dark, to defrost it overnight.

There's a weather warning for snow and ice covering the north east of England and right up the east side of Scotland in effect from 18:00 tonight until high noon tomorrow Rich.

Afternoon all, still minus 3 here, went out and fired up both cars, no problem except the Pearl is chucking out blue smoke once again, the last time she was out was last Thursday when she did the same on start up but started to clear once on the open road.

Tried to put stuff in the bin again, still welded shut. Don't want to force it, rubbish going in the shed until things thaw a bit.

Cool

Been raining all day but it’s now turning to sleet. Temperature reached 6.5 degrees earlier, but gradually dropping down.

Beef and mushroom with red wine casserole with mashed taters and spring greens for dinner. Fresh fruit for dessert.
