Sprayed Plus Gas liberally around both Pinch bolts, ball joint nuts etc. in prep for changing the front springs after finding one broken.

When I run out of Plus Gas has anyone ever come across/used Kano Kroil penetrating fluid? Looks like it's American and reported to be excellent.

Also read that auto transmission fluid mixed with acetone is pretty good - and I've already got those .

Andy.

I’m a bit of a fraud posting up on this, because I have not done anything after pulling a shoulder muscle trying to undo the rear subframe bolts. But the spring has been installed by another Brian. He fitted it by dropping the subframe. It was picked up on a low loader and delivered . Then Mike brought it back on trade plates for me. Never even got my hands dirty. I like it. So now down to me now to get it Waxoyled, track checked because new track rod ends each side, and then MOT time after three new timing belts. And to make my day, Mike said that it runs really smooth. Can not wait to get it on the road.

Fitted a pair of brake back plates today as both mine were either missing or just about hanging on.
Meant to do it when doing everything else but forgot to order some new bolts.
And cleaned up and refitted both wheel arch liners which are now held in place with new push rivets.
Lovely

The car doesnt seem to go into reverse properly so out with the battery tray and investigate.
I found the the coolant pipes and some wiring were fouling the mechanism, so a little time sorting out where it all should be was spent.
I wondered why there was a little puddle of clutch fluid on top of the box, wiped my finger on the quick release coupling and it was wet, probably the O ring has failed.
Cleaned it up, checked the operation of the gearstick and it now goes into gear properly.
All back together so then I decided to check and clean the egr valve, I'd wondered why my fuel consumption had dropped slightly and also the car was a little lethargic, and there was the prob, a split cooler pipe, so some tape covering it all till I get a new one.
The egr valve wasnt too bad, I removed it and cleaned it up with some carb cleaner I have, and it came up lovely and clean.

Well, been a bit of a dipstick couple of little scratches near the chrome washer nozzle where a magpie tried to nick it, tried polishing compounds and nothing. So I thought I'd wet sand the area, then polish.
Unfortunately, when I dried the area, seems I've gone through the clearcoat and ended up with dark blue
Pics tomorrow of the damage Hardly touched it too
Time for wine, lots of it

Fitted a replacement fronr to to the unique Arden Green 2.5 Connie SE tourer.

What a pain - You have to connect the electrical plug BEFORE hanging the door, and after hanging, you can't get a spanner on the hinge to body bolts to adjust the fit!
As for releasing the two central clips hold the door card on...
Just the mirror to check its motors and refit.
