"Klicking" noise when first moving off
Hi all,
Have 75 Conn. 2ltr V6 auto, location Woodford Essex. For some time now, and more noticeable in cold weather, there is a moderately loud klicking or ticking noise as soon as I move off after first starting. It's only audible for about a minute and only starts when I engage the auto box, never in neutral. Another thing is it never happens when the engine is warm, always only on the first start when cold. I've done 69000 mls and never had the transmission fluid changed, I was advised when it was due by my sevice dealer that doing so can cause problems and to quote " if there's no gear change problems leave well alone ". Would very much appreciate advice on this one. Thanks as usuall for any help, Bill |

Mine is a manual box so I can't speak from first hand experience, but there are plenty of threads on here that indicate the benefits of changing the fluid more regularly than the MGR recommendations. |

Auto box oil should be changed and with the correct stuff only.
Do a search loads of posts on this. I change mine every 60,000 miles, or you can leave it up to 4 years I believe if mileage not this high. (again stated elsewhere). |
