Default Ep Warning

Hi Just thought i would join that growing club of 75CDT non starters, my 2001 model was running well until it was time to leave work. The engine turns over OK but will not start. I have noticed that where it should display what mode the auto gearbox is in, it reads EP.this does not go away if you move the gear lever up and down the box.
Also noticed that the engine management symbol does not appear when ignition is switched on
HELP!

I rang them yesterday (Wednesday) to find out what was going on. They said the car autobox "played up" that morning and it was now booked into the auto tranny Co that supplied and fitted it for next Monday.. heh heh..

So once more I await events ....

Cool Ep Warning

Hi again, checked plenums and ECU, all appears OK, have tried numerous coffee breaks as well, still no life. Spoke to motor trader who sold me the car 2 weeks ago, and he is going to give me my money and old car back.
I might be able to get some sleep now, thanks for the excellent forum and wish all who have still to fix their problems the very best.
