Oh I am grateful that I'd not far to travel... and also to DavidT better known as David Tomlinson of NW Rover Repair... New brake lines to each back wheel fabricated and installed at very short notice... Got my stopping power back.

Yesterday, I av been mostly clearing out my breathing tubes (2.5 KV6) and my, were they full of gunge! I was able to rod them out using a length of bass piano string (which I just happened to have about my person) but in removing the tube from the rear bank, of course, it snapped off, right by the collar!! However, looking round the garage my eye lit upon a "Killaspray" which had plastic tubing of just the right size to "sleeve" the breather tube back into place. Sometimes, you just get lucky!

Today i got my car back from having some welding done, One of the jacking points needed replacing, and they not only fabricated and welding in a new insert, they cleaned up the exsisting welds, and replaced that metal also, they were very complimentary of the car saying its very sound with that part of the sill being the only rust on it, all told they charged me £120 that included for material, and sealer, paint , and are local to me, if anyone needs welding done they are in Rye, in Sussex, a bit out of the way, though, on a former riverside estate,

That's a good price for what sounds like a decent job.

Yes they did a very good job, I'm slowly getting the car up to a fair standard, going fit a new exhaust to take it back to standard in the next few days, and complete the saga of the rear brakes at the same time, I'm confident that at least the nearside carrier will come off, i did manage to remove one bolt on that last time, but hopefully now i know how to i can trap the upper one and hit the carrier, till it moves, it moved last time but i didn't try trapping the spanner, so fingers crossed, i do now have a spare set of carriers already derusted and painted ready to go on, and 4 new bolts,

12th August; bought a share in one (2024 charity rally car).
Wednesday this week; bought another one.

Let's hope this isn't a monthly habit.

So there isn't one list of jobs to do, now there's TWO lists!

After getting the rear seat sorted out and fitted, I did the drivers front seat change today. Had to cut the abs wire from my seat, to attach to the one i fitted. Connected battery and half expected a ‘bang’ from air bags, but everything ok. Only got to fit the passenger seat now, and then interior is all Neptune Speckle Blue. Must say, the drivers seat is more comfy than the old one.
