Today was oil & oil filter change, intercooler new hose, ultimate under tray fixings, plenum drain tubes cut so no more blockage both sides, all brake pipes checked and are in good order so are the front lower arms & wishbone bushes, good drop links.

Power steering hose tied back away from the air con compressor, as these can and do rub on the A/C pulley then cut through so one to avoid .Arctic.

Oil drain
1

Oil filter changed cleaned out the pot as always.
2

3

Cut off 15mm plenum drain tube both sides.
4

5

Tie back the AC hose from the compressor pulley to stop it chaffing, one to be aware of or else you will regret it
6

7

8

Intercooler top hose replacement, cut and fit to car.
9

10

11

Nicely fitted with treble Viton O-rings

+1 for tying back the pas hose. Not pleasant, that squealing noise and jerky ratchety steering.

It is the battery. Try charging it for two days first.

Fitted rear brake discs & pads to Red Nov today, Unipart discs, & genuine Rover pads, to be honest the discs I took off only about 12 months old, pads though had see better days, they were worn down to the 4mm of friction fibre.

Pads look very low
1

remove caliper
2

3

Remove the drum disc
4

5

Back plates look good, wire brush those and around the decent shoes that do not look that old 6 months maybe?
6

Mask off the shoes ready for spraying the back plates.
7

Back plates sprayed black.
8

Unipart discs replacing the old discs which are not to bad, a good clean up and they would be k to fit back on but as I have the Unipart ones they are being fitted.
9

10

Gave the rear drum disc a coat of silver paint.
11

12

Brakes pads with a smear of copper grease.
13

All fitted and ready to serve the car good.
14

The old pads had seen better days that is for sure, I never let mine get this low.

I Hoovered out the leaves from the plenum (The little swines still get in even with one of Jules plenum guards fitted)

Fitted a nice new pollen filter, then filled the radiator with flushing solution in preparation for tomorrows job of trying to unblock the matrix.
