Looking for a 75

Default Hello from North Yorkshire

Hi
Thanks for letting me join.
Im Al from near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. I thought I should introduce myself and let you know what I’m about.

Ive had a few classic cars over the years, mostly Morris minors
For a long time, I’ve wanted an SD1 but have finally given up on that and have decided to own a modern classic that I can use without having to worry about getting caught in the rain and could also use to tow my caravan to car shows. This decision is largely due to not wanting to have to deal with any rust, ive been there and done that several times, so its now time to get hold of a very well cared for car with no rust and a decent history. Ill do anything mechanical, I just don't want any rust to deal with.

So it is that I find myself here having decided that my next classic car will be a ZT or a 75. I fancy a V8 (who doesn’t) but the reality is ill probably end up with a V6 in one form or another.

Im not scared of the 4 cylinder K series, so they are not strictly off the radar but I really do fancy an Automatic V6 as they sound nice and will be much better for towing.
I’ve done more than my fair share of MLS gasket changes on MGf and Tf examples so fitting a new MLS on a K in a 75 would be pretty simple stuff but probably not the right engine for me with the occasional tow required.

Im looking for the right car, Ideally then, a well-loved V6 2.5 with leather and automatic but the 2.0 V6 may suit. Condition and good history is the key as far as I’m concerned. Colour choice isn’t the main priority so that opens it up a lot methinks.
The Diesel, whilst not particularly appealing, isn’t off the shopping list so that is an option too but I keep coming back to wanting a V just for the fun of it.

Im looking through the excellent buyers guide on this site (thanks) and hope to have a car sorted out in time for the summer shows.

Well, thats me, ill be about.

Cheers
