MG-ZT CDTi Project - Reluctant Sale

We have been building the above car as a project since 2017. Due to a change in work commitments and long term health issues, we are reluctantly offering the above for sale.

BAD POINTS

* Bodywork is generally good. Small dent OSF roof. Couple of parking dents OSF front wing. All should be easily repairable by mobile dent company.

* SILLS - OSR, OSF & NSR sills have been MOT welded before we purchased the vehicle. I have got replacement panels for all 4 sill corners which will be included in the sale. Vehicle has been to my local MOT test station who have checked the work previously done and have advised it would pass MOT with no issues where the sills are concerned. NSF sill is perfect.

* PAINTWORK - We were going for a rat look design for exterior so we have used rattle cans on parts of the body for that effect. Vehicle would benefit from partial re-spray if anyone interested wishes to change the look.

In pictures, front bumper not on vehicle. This was due to full re-paint of front sub-frame being carried out which should have bumper etc re-fitted before sale.

* AIR-CON - We noted when purchasing the vehicle that most of the air-con had been removed by the previous owner. Pipe work through front bulk-head has been capped, only condenser and wiring is in situ. It didn’t bother us at the time and the job is quite tidy.

* REAR SCREEN - Upon purchase we found water in the boot so we stripped the boots contents and placed into dry storage. Have changed trunk seal, rear light seals. We have had a wind-screen fitter visit to remove the screen. All clips etc, in situ. Screen needs re-sealing and have been quoted around £80 for the job.

* NSF DOOR LOCK - The lock does not open the central locking but opens ok from the inside. The electric mirrors do not work.

* SPEEDOMETER is currently not working, fault with ABS cables, 4x new ABS cables supplied with vehicle to repair.

GOOD POINTS

* EGR bypass carried out summer 2023. EGR valve will come with car if the new owner wants to refit.
* FUEL PUMPS - New in tank and under bonnet fuel pumps fitted Sumer 2023. Genuine MG Rover pump in tank, supplied by Rimmer Bros. Genuine BOSCH pump under bonnet.
* ENGINE MOUNTS - 2x genuine MG Rover engine mounts fitted summer 2023
* CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER - This was replaced summer 2022.
* THERMOSTAT - Changed summer 2023. Vehicle is started every two weeks. Water pump was checked when replacing thermostat and found to be ok. Brand new pump will come with the vehicle.
* REAR SUSPENSION - New lower arms fitted. Rear sub-frame solid but could do with re-paint. Spare rear sub-frame which has been powder coated and still in plastic, supplied with car.
* WHEELS - 5x hair-pin alloys with vehicle. 4 wheels have brand new budget tyres with less than 60 miles usage. 1x hairpin alloy fitted with Michelin pilot tyre used, also with car. 1x above wheel currently being refurbished, will be with car if sold. 1x Rover75 alloy wheel. May be seen on pictures, this was found in the car boot when buying the vehicle. Will need refurb and tyre. We just use when to stand the vehicle on while alloys are away being refurbished.
* INTERIOR - All seats are in very good condition. Drivers seat has patch on bolster. Rear seat squab has white mark possibly from chewing gum from previous owners. Head-lining, mostly good, couple of pins matching colour in NSR.
* NEW WINDSCREEN - This was fitted 2022.
* ENGINE - Engine runs very well for miles. Serviced 2020. Does smoke slightly due to lack of use but when given a run out smoke clears.

SPARES

All parts not seen in photos or removed during repairs will be supplied with vehicle, for example, boot contents, door cards will come with vehicle. All currently in safe dry storage.
New parts supplied in sale will include

* front & rear lights
* new fog lamps
* replacement rear sub-frame
* new front wheel arch liners
* brake back plates
* ABS sensors x4
* replacement water pump
* various weather seals, fixing clips etc,
* various pieces spare trim
* spray paint and touch up paint
* tin of waxol for sill repair
* owners manual, handbooks etc.

I am open to sensible offers for all above. I have been asked previously, won’t break or remove parts from vehicle. If you are interested, you take car and parts and spares as one item. Vehicle is sold as spares/repair. Does drive very well. Will need transporting away. Currently on my drive-way but will be going into secure storage beginning of March 2024. So if not sold, it will be removed from sale by then, dates to be confirmed.
