Default Fake MAF

HI,

I believe my car may be running a faulty or fake Bosch MAF... I have previously seen a picture of a fake vs Original MAF but i cannot find the thread any longer.

Can anybody tell me what the notable differences between the two are or even better a picture showing the two?

I dont want to throw good money after bad but i need to acknowledge the fault before i feel that i can move on....

Any help gratefully received

Cheers

What trouble are you having with your MAF original Bosch maf usually as green O-ring, also if you remove the internal part it will have a code on it.

Original MAF
1

2

Fake MAF not the code stamp is in different place and the wire is also different
3

The back is also blank.

Thanks Arctic,

That is exactly what i was looking for !

It would appear i have a broken genuine MAF I have plugged the MAF in and i was looking for warning lights etc. It would appear all i got was a very very leisurely Rover - worse than normal!

So my next question is leading on to where to get an official Bosch part from? Some posts have mentioned MAF shop but they dont seem to stock them... Does anyone have a good source for the original part, or am i just going to run unplugged forever?

thanks again

These sellers below are saying they are genuine sellers of the Bosch MAF but I have never purchased from any one of them, if you are thinking of buying from then or any seller please ask all the right question.

Do they know the code number on the insert it must be (F00C 2G2 029 )

Will they accept the item back for full refund it you are not happy or find the product not genuine.

Lest not forget also that some BMW inserts fit our cars and are cheaper I can not find one at the moment on ebay someone may know.

I have answered your PM
