Default No disc error

The CD changer in the glovebox fires up, I can hear it, but just keeps saying "No discs". I tried a cleaner, but it won't load that either, so its not actually doing any cleaning.

Any ideas? I hate just having the radio, as the cassette is muffled as well. I'd buy a double din, but the water leak and engine have eaten my cash! (Unless there are any cheap ones I've missed?)

Cheers

Dawn

It's a common problem Dawn, probably mechanical. I have it too. Do you fancy a DIY repair?

It depends what I need to do? I can't make it any worse, after all! Any ideas? I just don't want to spend money on it, though. If I'm going to do that I might as well upgrade.

I wouldn't mind what's in, if I could get it to play. The cassette sounds like its only coming out one speaker, but its not the speakers, because the radio is okay. I tried getting in to clean it, but its not having any of it. If I get time, I might just take the CD thing out and strip it to try and clean the lens that way.
