Default Bolster repair

I've had the bolster on the Drivers seat repaired. It was in a he.. of a state.
The repair is as good as one could expect. Am really proud of the finished product. (replaced the complete Bolster and added lost support underneath)
Location: Stainforth Nr. Doncaster.

Good for you, it’s amazing why loads of folk shy away from such repairs.

I was surprised just recently how easy it is to remove the leather on our seats when I converted a driver’s height adjustment to fit the passengers side.

It's just a shame that they never tell you the "true" cost of the repairs they have done.

I did have the opportunity to either leave the car or the seat removed. I left it in - just lazy and very senior but he charged me £100.00 - I was delighted as I'd be quoted £160 elsewhere about six months ago. Mine started to go because of the button on my hip pocket. Dot't have them any more. Truly, a wonderful repair.

I had the driver's seat outer bolster of my 2004 MG ZT repaired last week. Three of the leatherette sections were replaced and the bolster re-shaped for £120. The match was excellent and the workmanship was top notch. I dropped the seat off at 10am and it was finished by 3pm

I would assume that where parts have to be purchased they get a sizeable (trade) discount plus an even bigger discount (maybe even free) as the supply company will be featured on TV.

What really amazes me is the price some of these restoration shows get charged for a bare metal respray, I recently paid £400 for a bumper and boot lid respray - they seem to be able to get the whole car done for just over twice that ! ....

I didn't take the seat out - he did but only after I queried with him the sequence he'd apply if I left it for him to remove. Previous listings would advise location - Anyway www.specialist-upholstery.com. Not far from Thorne or Doncaster. 01302 843458 I told him I was a member of this Forum so mabye he paid some extra attention to it - who knows, can do no harm - only plus
