Sorry, thought that the post was ref the advert showing and MG in general, not specifically just the ZR. My mistake.

They probably thought the MG connection would appeal to some, as it does me, my wife having just bought a ZS. It says in the text that you can swap any make or model of car, not just rusty old rovers. The people going for this scheme won’t be the keen enthusiasts, they’ll be the people who are running their cars into the ground anyway.

What I’m more interested in is the fact it’s a swap page scheme, not scrappage, so what happens to the cars they take in? Are sending them to auction or scrapping?
What annoys me is they love to tell you they are nothing to do with MGR, I can't see BMW doing the same with a real mini on a similar poster as they know it will alienate real mini owners and put them off the new ones

Let me tell you all a true story as an ex MG Motor Longbridge employee. We obviously seen how poor the quality is from China, we often said "chinese S***" to things. Anyway, William Wang who I'm sure some of you will know is the MD of MG UK, he got wind of this and got everyone in the conference centre (now used by paul rigby) and ranted saying how fed up he was of hearing people saying Chinese S***, and that Rover was S*** and China was good. I don't think he appreciated everyone laughing at him...

As a former owner of two MG6s, the ZT wipes the floor off them, much better quality product in many way. We often tried to buy left over ex MGR pool cars & unsold ones left behind but were told by William that if we want an MG we have to buy a new one. He crushed a load of them to be spiteful to us.

Guess his real name rhymes with either Irish Punt, or bank manager.

Yes, when the Chinese come to uk they were given a choice of English names to pick from, that is the truth. His real name is Hao Wang from memory.

I think you missed the point of my post. I was wondering if he was related to Mr Kerr.
