Default Milage light on dash stays on

Hi all.
When I turn the car off the milage stays lit, all night, all the time. So the milage indecation stays on al the time. Also the trip computer has stopped working in the dash behind the steering wheel. When you push the end of the indicator stalk the trip computer should light up and you toggle through average speed, fuel consumption ect, but does not work. The drains are clear and there is no water in the boot. Anyone got any ideas??
Cheers
Ratdog.

Sounds like the ECU / BCU has got it's knickers in a twist.

Try disconnecting the battery (SAT NAV & Radio Codes etc....) and see if re-booting it clears the problem.

It's happened again today. I have just disconnected the battery again. The thread from last time was from 3rd Nov 08. So is there another problem??

Probably just getting it knickers twisted again. You'd really need to get it onto a T4 to se if there re any faultcodes.

Re connected battery and fault gone. Is this BCU? If so does BCU record fault codes for the T4 to read

faults are recorded by the ECU, the BCU is the body control unit....
