I had a look at the car today and it seemed OK. Needs a few bits to make perfect.
Bumpers scratched and chipped and the drivers door pillar looked like someone used it to get in and out. Quite worn. Compared to my Mondeo its small. But i dont think thats an issue. No FBH which i would have liked. Is this an easy retrofit? Anyone in the Dudley Cradley heath area that can give me some tips or even have a gander? There is a funny rectangular slot on the dash Shocked that a 2003 car still uses tapes. Thanks. |

I know not to take any warranty with a pinch of salt. I use lots of consumer forums and car forums. Seen many complaints that a trader has changed the name over the door to avoid any comebacks.
Google streetview shows a different trader. GTautos or something. Fully equipped workshop and MOT bay? I didnt see that? Got another yard somewhere? |

Would be interesting to see what was on the service history, things to look for at that mileage is as follows:
Both fuel pumps, slave/master cylinders, clutch, DMF, water pump, steering pump, suspension, running gear etc, engine mounts, brake pipes, I'm sure I've missed something but these are all things I've done at 170k but 90% of that is motorway mileage so if your motor has drove its life on a/b roads all of that could easily show up shortly... |

+1 to the above post - while generally reliable, there is a raft of components getting to the worn-out stage at that kind of mileage.

Having never driven or given the 75 a 2nd glance before, I wouldnt know what to look for.
Guessing the pumps are a case of they work then they dont. Or do they make noises 1st? Although i wouldn't know what the normal noise way. Sounded OK to me. But my Mondeo has had some abuse this year. Need someone that knows these cars inside out. Thanks Robbie, How good are you with the 75's? I know at this age and price range its a bit of blind faith. But the more eyes and hands i can get to point of what might be a future issue the better. How much is a clutch/DMF on these? |
