Yup - just had son, daughter, daughter-in-law, grandkids and my lonely next door neighbour (widow, with nearest family in Manchester) around for the afternoon. Consumed a bit of smoked gammon, some home-made sherry trifle and a drop or two of sloe gin. I'm now full to the gunnels with both cold and food - so I'm off for an early night.
It's the last stocktake of the year at the Club tomorrow - so I've got to be in Great Ayton for 8.50 - wonder if Petch's Pie Shop is open in the morning
