Have a safe drive back Bob, don't forget to have a break along the way as it is a long drive. I hope you are feeling better

What will you do? will you be putting in a double glass window with a plastic frame?

By coincidence, we have the builders and welders round, day 2. Our old out house had rotted away. It’s where we do the laundry. I am having a new one built with burglar bars and want to keep the garden tools in it. They are also building a water tower to collect and store rain water.

We will use the water to supply a new garden project we have planned: vertical grow bags. Each bag is filled with compost and fed with water and natural organic anti pest nutrients. 10 bags can grow hundreds of vegetables and herbs, up to 1000 plants. We visited the nursery to see this in action. Each grow bag is strong and UV protected, they have a life of 7 years and cost about £6.

Yes new UPVC window frame (slightly different design), Steel lintel & leaded glass going in.

Flamin' rain stopped play again We've had to call it a day until tomorrow, hopefully it will be dry, plus it'll give more time for the courses of brick to go off that have been laid today.

Those vertical growbags look like a great idea Phil I bet they look very nice when the plants are in foliage and a good price too.

I'm in hiding
Made the mistake of talking to the press yesterday about the fact that the Club where I drink has changed the rules to allow lady members and guests to be admitted - it's been men only since 1910 - and we appointed our first Lady Honorary Member, a local long-serving councillor.
What I said was badly twisted - comments taken out of context etc. when it was published.
Since the article's appearance in the local paper - I've been pestered by the Daily Mirror, local BBC Radio and just now - the Daily Express. All of them want me to embellish the story - which I have no intention of doing. There's enough sh...(you know what) hitting the fan already, especially as I referred to the members who DIDN'T want the ladies to join as "misogynistic dinosaurs"

Evening all, It eventually dried up late afternoon, too late to do anymore more work on the brickwork plus I've been flat on my back all afternoon, I think I've done too much

Oh heck! Rod, close the curtains and retreat to a few bottles of Henry Weston.
