you wont normally hear Brits saying this but I cant wait for it to rain
Don't need a storm but gentle rain for hours

Too hot to work outside, our vegetable patch is bare, little is growing.

After months of beautiful weather here we went away for the weekend with the caravan for the weekend. Thursday was nice and sunny but it turned very cloudy and dull with rain for the entire weekend.
Yesterday afternoon just after I parked the van up in the driveway at home it was a downpour flooding the road opposite my home, again

Hit 34.5 on the Cambridgeshire fens yesterday, according to the 75s IPK.

I heard the fan cutting in on high speed a few times whilst pootling about locally - first time I remember that happening.

Absolutely loving this weather. If anything, it needs to get hotter!
Best summer that I can remember. Certainly, the best in many many years up here. I can only remember it raining a handful of times since the end of April. Love it.

I agree. In a few months everyone will be moaning. Make the the most of it. Luckily here in East Anglia it is the driest part of the UK. I've worked in the Middle East. Now that does get hot!

We need the typical British holiday weather back - constant drizzle for days with the odd dry day.

Weekend before last, I was in the Peak District and did a 9 mile walk up to the moors by the dams and then along Derwent Edge on the Sunday. The temperatures and the sun directly overhead made it really hard.

Also, the water levels in the reservoirs are terribly low.

Exactly Rav. The winter dragged on forever or it seemed to as I was coming in soaked and freezing most days after buying a dog. The good summers don't come around very often so make the most of them despite the global warning experts claiming on tv last night that this is now the norm!
