Never I met you Brian (Mind you I'm in France!) but I've read lots of your posts and I should tell you that you bring far more good than harm to the club and to us poor chaps!

I didn't always agree with your judgements & style, nevertheless your posts are very often enlightening & useful.

To see a skilful & essential guy like you going away is a very big loss for the club and for all MG Rover lovers & addicts around the globe.
Years to come would become far less easy if we are deprived of your fine knowledge.

Please do reconsider your impulsive decision.
And it will be a big cheer from a massive number of us I bet!

And while we are on the subject of t4 can you as an expert in the field tell me how t4 can see the 160 re map if as Brian and others have said previously that the map is put on the cars with a Chinese copy of something g or other ie not t4
To the people who have had their cars remapped with Brian or Russ you need to be aware that all your Information is saved and in the event of an accident can and will be admissible in a court of law (if your insurance company has not been made aware)
I doubt any of you were told this and I also doubt you got a receipt.
Maybe this will help why Brian has gone

https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=287278
Or maybe its because as he says I'm fed up with doing things for nothing to the people on here

Unfortunately Brian was arrogant and in this case he got it wrong!

What a silly post. When you shared the data, did that person know what they were doing? Or did they ask?

People cannot necessarily be expected to know everything about everything. The fools are the ones who don't ask the question. They then learn . the person who stole the data, quite obviously is no fool, as he asked the questions in the hope of learning something. His questions obviously were rebuffed, and offence taken (and committed too)

This club will suffer from this, and I hope it does.

It is not the ordinary member which is ruining this club, It is the Over the Top Political Correct Management.

A well maintained car is far better than a shiny shiny car which had stood in a field for two years, and polished to within an inch of its life.

And as far as the Barnsley cowboys are celebrating, get one thing straight, he had you lot sussed because he has the knowledge, the brains and the tools to uncover your dastardly deeds

I certainly won’t be donating any more tenners, and I hope a lot more will do the same.

Brian can walk away from this place and stick two fingers up at it

One thing is for sure...........

Brian didn’t need this club.

The club needs him.

Hi

You really think that was a silly post?
Ask how many people who have had re maps knew their data was stored?
Are you saying they were all stupid not to ask or is it the case that the person storing the data should ask the permission of the owner to retain their details
No one has been caught out at all if that were the case which it is not I would be I should have court for stealing copyright
I am happy to go to Court and prove who is right and who is wrong

We have all started many threads in the general forum. A pertinent question would be whether Clyde specifically invited others to comment on the content of his "For sale" advertisement, which as a norm is contrary to the club rules.

A: No, he did not.

From the viewpoint of this specific question only, what does it matter? The cars are worth so little anyway, even the best cared for ones!

I am also sad to see that Brian has decided to 'move on'. Apart from the wealth of expertise/advice he has provided to all club members, he was very supportive of me after I had issues with a cowboy trader on here, who did considerable damage to my car, and left me seriously out of pocket. In spite of our protests to club management, this individual is still trading on here, and the club are taking traders fees from him.

So, I am not surprised that Brian has decided to spend his time elsewhere. Whilst the club forum is very active and a very useful source of advice/information, like many clubs, I feel it is quite cliquey, and the management to not appreciate the value of members with strong technical/mechanical skills. It is these skills that will keep these cars on the road for years to come, not the ability to detail/valet the cars to death, or fit a walnut gear knob ! I find that many classic car owners (of not just 75/ZTs) who can make a car look cosmetically great often cannot do any mechanical/technical work on their cars. If they need an oil change or a set of brake pads fitting, they have to go to a 'specialist' to get it done. Cars are individual things, and whilst I do not wish to demean owners who like to valet/detail their cars, I would rather spend my time/energy and money on making sure my cars are mechanically and structurally sound. Recently, I have felt less inclined to comment on threads on the forum, and also on other classic car forums, because I feel that often the clubs are dominated by folks who strive for a concours car that they can park in a field at a car show, rather than a reliable functioning example that could still be used on an everyday basis.

What a sad day. And what sad regurgitated tripe from previous antagonists.

Complaints about ‘management’, on a thread with freedom to permit strong views being allowed, are obviously misplaced. I know we are able to give forth on here but just because we can it doesn’t mean we must.

A degree of reticence is sometimes worth a lot more than spite or one-upmanship. The ill feeling being shown is just as big a loss to the club as is the OP’s decision. Sometimes we despair.

Agree entirely. Some grown up behaviour lacking here for sure.
