Default Car needs treating underneath

Dear All

Can anyone recommend any companies in the north of England where I could get my ZT190 wire brushed and re-undersealed (dynatrol probably) as she is showing her age underneath and that needs sorting out?

Many thanks

Andrew

Perhaps not that close to Leeds, but Rustbuster at Spalding, Lincs. offer a rustproofing service. I am using their products on my MGB restoration, and I am quite impressed so far.

I got mine done at this place

https://www.dinitroldirect.com/autos...gton-dinitrol/

They removed the bumpers, all undertrays, arch liners , sill covers, door cards, boot and bonnet blankets etc.
They had it 6 days as there was lots of drying time needed between each stage from prep to final coats. They done a great job of the underside as well as the insides of the doors and body panels.
Well worth it if you plan on keeping and preserving the car for future years.

Not the best time of year to do it unless they have excellent heating/drying facilites!

Yes it's too late in the year now.......as soon as the roads are salted it is madness to consider this job.

Smile Contact Rustbuster

I had two of my cars thoroughly treated by these people and you can get an idea of what they do at
https://www.rust.co.uk/product/cat/o...ing-service-24 .

I would discuss the time of year - but one of the products they have is a de-salter. A check tells me you are 2hr 30 min from them ( closer than me) . I drove there , hired a car for a couple of days .

Not only will they rigorously clean the underside but also treat all cavities. I had them specially treat my wheel arches / lips too. They have their own / large workshop / heaters.
on my third car I used their products and did it all myself - but grabbed the splendid weather this year to help!

It took me just over 3 hours to do my MG TF myself using a lift at a local garage. Wire brush, rust treatment and application of Dinitrol.
My 75 is currently away having all new rear suspension fitted and will get the treatment straight after on a lift. I would estimate 5 hours to complete that job. I’m lucky enough to have the use of the Streetwise so this allows me to give the 75 a good clean with arch liners off and a few days to dry.
For the bigger job I’ve bought three 1 litre cans and a Shultz gun for the application and I have 4, 500ml aerosol cans left from the first car.
Come spring I will likely do the Streetwise too.
Works out to be about £75 per car plus a few quid to the garage to let me use the lift.
