This morning Ros and I are off to the Vampire clinic for blood test.
Then it's home and I'll be putting a Beef Brisket joint in the slow cooker for our supper tonight
Singapore Grand Prix and the Manchester Derby to keep me amused on the Telly Box.

Since Sydney passed our Cubby has become a lot more clingy to me, I'm sure he knows that his mate is no longer with us.

Oh Yum That looks bootiful Jeff. Not decided what we're having for tea yet. I going to clean the windows outside with the scrim as I cant see through them for condensation.

I had a blood test a while ago, they put one of those small round plasters on it. I got home, Pops jumped up on my knee, sniffed at the plaster "that's not meant to be there", got the edge of it in her front teeth and ripped it off

Posh slow cooker that.

Contents look nice though, any chance of the recipe being shared?

Doesn't seem to matter which casserole flavouring mix I buy it always ends up tasting the same.

I have been waiting for 2 suppositories since 07:30 and today it’s the Philippines nurses looking after me. Yesterday the nurses were a mix or African and Indian, one nurse was from Nepal. A sign of the multi cultural society we are living in.

I was chatting with my nephew last night and yesterday he asked the vet to put his Scots Terrier to sleep for 20 minutes so the dogs teeth could be properly cleaned.

Thank you Steve for your good wishes.

Ging is one of many male and female nurses from the Philippines in the local NHS. One of our nieces back in the Philippines is studying nursing, Ging is hoping she can eventually come over here.

No 5am rise tomorrow

Hi Ian,

Not a casserole in this case, pot roast beef brisket .
Beef was seasoned and quickly seared in the pan to brown the sides then put on a bed of carrots, swede, onions, parsnip and garlic cloves .
About half a pint of water and a glass of red wine added along with a beef stock cube. A few table spoons of corn flour added to help thicken the stock.
Cooked on low for about eight hours then the beef removed to finish off for half an hour in the oven at 180c.
Roasted carrots and potatoes along with some cabbage to go with the joint and some home made Yorkshire puddings .
The stock in the pot is used to make the gravy by squeezing the vegetables through a sieve and into a saucepan along with any juice from the beef once out of the oven .
I’ll let you know how it turns out as it will be ready for about 18.00
